Originally from Curaçao, Karina moved to the Netherlands to study Fine Art and Design in Utrecht. Working with ceramics has taught her to let go of control and embrace the unexpected, the final outcome is often left in the hands of the ceramic gods. Inspired by female empowerment and everyday rituals, she creates handmade pieces that celebrate organic forms, individuality, and the beauty of imperfection.

Join me for a workshop! I give pottery workshops in my at home studio in Rijswijk. I have a cute garden shed that I turned in to my ceramic studio.

Workshops are not the core of my business, but I love sharing the art of pottery, so I make time to give a few workshops once in a while. I always share available dates through instagram so keep an eye out!

From womb to artwork

Your own placenta, transformed into ceramics.
This journey began when I created a ceramic sculpture of my own placenta. And now created a service to make personal placenta sculptures for you as well, using your own personal placenta.

The sculpture made with my own placenta is also for sale. A meaningful piece that fits beautifully in a midwifery practice, doula studio, or any space connected to birth and new life. You can pre-order the sculpture through the webshop.
