Originally from Curaçao, Karina moved to the Netherlands to study Fine Art and Design in Utrecht. Working with ceramics has taught her to let go of having the control on everything, because the final results are in the hands of the ceramics gods and not hers. She embraces the unpredictable and sees beauty in the imperfections.

Going back to my inner self and finding the intrinsic motivation to create. “TERA” means earth,
soil or land. And for me, I want to return with my feet on the ground, stay
close to myself and the clay. A collection that comes purely from myself,
products that I want to make, different shapes, neutral colors and
minimalism. A change is needed! I became a human robot who strives for perfection and
makes products for others and has far too many demands and expectations. I want
to create for myself and from myself and bring it into the world. This collection is about the intention with which the work was created. I'm going to
